Loading metre (LDM) calculator
Choose the pallet type, count and stacking; see the loading metres that road groupage is priced on.
How is it calculated?
A loading metre is one metre of trailer length across its 2.4 m width. A pallet's LDM = length (m) × width (m) ÷ 2.4.
An EUR pallet (1.2 × 0.8 m) is 0.4 LDM, a UK pallet (1.2 × 1.0 m) 0.5 LDM. Stackable pallets share a floor position.
A standard trailer is 13.6 LDM: 33 EUR or 26 UK pallets on one tier.
Assumptions
- Trailer internal width 2.4 m (LDM definition), length 13.6 m.
- Pallets load in full rows without rotation.
- Stack only as far as the goods and packaging allow.
